Laredo, Texas – Texas A&M International women's soccer stretched its unbeaten streak to seven games on Saturday night in a 2-1 home victory over Oklahoma Christian.
The Dustdevils (7-3-5, 5-2-3 LSC) opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Candela Gonzalez scored on a free kick. TAMIU held the Eagles (6-4-5, 2-4-4 LSC) quiet in the first half, limiting them to just one shot.
Oklahoma Christian found its grove in the second half and scored the equalizer in the 54th minute. The Eagles recorded three shots in the second half.
Despite conceding a goal, TAMIU continued to click on offense and found the game winner in the 62nd minute when Lucia Cuadra scored off an assist from Gonzalez and Blanca Osorio.
The Dustdevils finished with 11 shots in the game, seven of which were on goal.
TAMIU is in action next at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31 at home against UT Permian-Basin (4-6-5, 2-4-4- LSC) for its senior night.
