Laredo, Texas – Texas A&M International men's soccer fought to a 1-1 draw with UT Tyler for the second game in a row on Wednesday night to open us the Lone Star Conference season.
After a scoreless first half, the Dustdevils (4-2-3, 0-0-1 LSC) opened the scoring when Saul Fernandez found the back of the net in the 66th minute.
TAMIU continued to keep the Patriots (4-1-4, 0-0-1) off the scoreboard until a penalty in the 79th minute led to the equalizer.
 The Dustdevils totaled 12 shots, four of which were on goal and UT Tyler finished with 13 shots, five of which were on goal.
Jorge Amaya finished with three shots on goal.
TAMIU will be in action next at 5 p.m. on Saturday at home against DBU (3-5-1, 0-1-0 LSC).
