Dustdevils Fall in Game 4

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – After splitting a doubleheader, Texas A&M International baseball fell to St. Mary's in game four on Sunday, 12-6.

TAMIU took an early lead, scoring two runs in the top of the first. Graduate student Daniel Hernandez singled in a run and Mario Chacon scored on a wild pitch.

The Rattlers responded with four runs in the bottom of the second.

The Dustdevils tied the game in the top of the fourth with a pair of runs after Hernandez hit a two-run home run.

St. Mary's took the lead in the bottom of the fourth with one run to take a 5-4 lead.

TAMIU answered and tied the game with a run in the top of the sixth. Junior Ariben Gutierrez laid down a sacrifice bunt to score the run

The Rattlers opened the floodgates in the bottom of the seventh, scoring seven runs.

The Dustdevils scored one run in the top of the eighth after junior Daniel Quiroz singled in a run.

TAMIU threw seven pitchers that allowed 12 runs (11 earned) on nine hits while talking eight and hitting two batters while striking out seven.

Senior Matt Kissamis led the Dustdevils from the plate going 3-for-6 with one run.

The Dustdevils will be in action next at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 31 for the first game of a four-game series against Lubbock Christian.
