LAREDO, Texas - Texas A&M International Baseball was swept by UT Tyler on Saturday in a doubleheader, losing game one 10-6 and game two 6-5.

The Patriots jumped out early, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning, but the Dustdevils answered right back, scoring three runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning.
Senior
Matt Kissamis hit a three-run home run to score all three runs.
The lead didn't last for long as UT Tyler scored four runs in the second to take a 6-3 lead.
TAMIU rallied back and scored one run in the top of the fourth before adding two in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game.
Junior
Daniel Quiroz hit a solo home run in the fourth and senior
Beto Cervantes hit a two-run bomb in the sixth to tie it up.
But the Patriots had one more run in them, scoring four runs in the top of the seventh to take the victory.
Sophomore
Lalo Salinas started the game on the mound, pitching 5.2 innings. He allowed six runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks while striking out five batters.
Redshirt freshman Reese Peterson and junior
Adrian Talavera both pitched 0.1 innings of hitless baseball.
Junior
Ariben Gutierrez led TAMIU from the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run scored.
UT Tyler 6 TAMIU 5
Neither team scored for the first four innings of the game, but the Eagles finally got on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth with one run.
They added four more in the top of the sixth to take a 5-0 lead, but the Dustdevils responded with five runs of their own in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game.
Cervantes singled in a pair of runs, senior
Mario Chacon reached home after senior Cam Stevenson took a pitch to the face and junior
Antonio Buentello singled in a pair of runs.
But UT Tyler had some late-game magic left and scored one run in the top of the seventh to win game two.
Junior
Jan Cabrera started game two for TAMIU, pitching 5.2 innings. He allowed five runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out eight. Freshman
Billy Winans also pitched 0.1 innings of hitless baseball.
Kissamis, Chacon, and Cervantes all recorded two hits.
TAMIU will take on UT Tyler in game four of the series on Sunday, March 5 at 1 p.m.
