SAN ANGELO, Texas – Texas A&M International Baseball fell to No. 1 Angelo State 7-0 in the first game of the series on Thursday.
The Rams scored four runs in the bottom of the second and three in the bottom of the seventh.
Senior
Ronnie Bailey and junior
Ariben Gutierrez both went 2-for-3 from the plate with Gutierrez hitting a double and senior
Joseph Cruz hit a double.
Graduate Student
Joseph Garza-Delapena started the game and pitched one inning where he allowed four runs (three earned) on two hits while walking three batters and striking out none in one inning of work.
Junior
Andrew Delgadillo pitched five innings of relief, allowing no runs on four hits while walking one batter and striking out four.
Redshirt-Freshman Reese Peterson pitched 0.2 innings allowing no runs and one hit and senior
Steven Grimes pitched one inning of hitless baseball.
TAMIU will be in action next at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 7 for a doubleheader against Angelo State.
