TAMIU Volleyball Adds Frans To 2023 Class

LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International head volleyball coach Brittany Harry announced the signing of defensive specialist Lauren Frans on Wednesday.

The San Antonio native joins TAMIU after completing her high school career at powerhouse Cornerstone Christian School who was ranked by MaxPreps as the #1 team in the state of Texas and #2 team in the country by MaxPreps and USA Today.

"I am so happy to add Lauren to our program," expressed Coach Harry. "She has been coached by some of the best high school coaches in the state and she is someone who will definitely add some healthy competition to the defensive specialist position. She is also a great student in the classroom, and I know she will have a very successful career wearing a TAMIU jersey."

A key contributor at the defensive specialist position, Frans helped lead Cornerstone to a remarkable 55-2 overall record, as the team lost just 11 sets the entire season.
Outside of high school volleyball, Frans played her club volleyball for San Antonio Juniors 18 Adidas.

Academically, Frans was a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and will pursue a degree in engineering from TAMIU.

She elected to become a Dustdevil because the city of Laredo has always been dear to her heart because of the culture and people, but also it being the hometown of her mother Cynthia.

Family is of great importance to Frans and being able to visit more with her grandparents while getting an education and playing the sport she loves is a win/win.
