LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International head volleyball coach
Brittany Harry announced the signing of 6' right side hitter Anna Ligart on Thursday.
A native of Godollo, Hungary, Ligart joins TAMIU after competing in high level Hungarian volleyball.
"I am very excited to add Anna to our program at TAMIU," said Coach Harry. "Anna is bringing in a lot of international experience with her to Laredo, that is sure to improve the level in our gym. She is a six-rotation player who I expect to contribute right away for playing time."
Ligart most recently competed for club team UTE Budapest, while also spending the summer training with the U19 Hungarian Youth National Team as she is trying to make the final roster to compete in the 2023 FIVB Girl's U19 World Championships, held in Croatia and Hungary this August.
Ligart did compete for both the U17 Hungarian Youth National Team in 2020 in the MEVZA Qualification, placing fifth and the year prior competed for the U16 Hungarian Youth National Team that placed 11th in the 2019 European Championship Qualification.
Ligart chose TAMIU because of the high level of education, a good atmosphere and kind people.
