Edmond, Okla. – TAMIU traveled to Edmond, OK to face Oklahoma Christian on Thursday evening and came away with a victory, 85-78. With the win, the Dustdevils improve to 14-2 on the season and 6-2 in the Lone Star Conference.
In the first quarter, TAMIU jumped out early, taking a 22-15 lead into the second quarter. TAMIU maintained their lead in the second quarter, despite, shooting 35.00% from the field. At the break, the Dustdevils were on top, 40-31.
The third quarter saw TAMIU extend their lead, shooting 41.18% from the field. Oklahoma Christian mounted a comeback in the final quarter, but TAMIU proved too much and ultimately sealed the victory, 85-78.
Malea Jackson led the Dustdevils with 22 points.
Raiana Brown added 19 points and 5 assists. Samiya Worrell also scored in double figures with 18 points and 5 rebounds.
The Dustdevils travel to Fort Smith, AR next to face Arkansas Fort Smith on Saturday, January 13 at 1pm.
