Tyler, Texas - TAMIU traveled to Tyler, TX to face #13 UT Tyler in Lone Star Conference action on Thursday evening and came up short, 47-65.
The 1st quarter saw a close start, with the Dustdevils scoring 13 points and UT Tyler securing a slight lead with 15 points. The 2nd quarter maintained the competitive atmosphere, as TAMIU added 15 points to their tally, but UT Tyler stayed ahead with 14 points, leading at halftime, 29-28.
In the 3rd quarter, TAMIU improved their shooting to 40.00%, yet UT Tyler extended their lead by scoring 21 points. The Dustdevils went cold in the final quarter while UT Tyler added 15 more points to secure the victory.
TAMIU shot 31.3% from the field, 25.0%from 3PT range, and 90.9% from the free-throw line, while UT Tyler recorded 39.3%, 53.8%, and 70.0% in the respective categories.
Raiana Brown led the Dustdevils with 13 points  and 6 rebounds.
Samiyah Worrell added 9 points and 3 assists.
The Dustdevils have one more road game before heading home. They travel to Denton, TX to face Texas Woman's on Saturday, January 20 at 2pm.
