Denton, Texas – TAMIU (15-4, 7-4 )finished a four game road trip and a difficult week on Saturday afternoon when they traveled to Denton, TX to face #14 Texas Woman's (15-3, 9-1).
In the first quarter, TAMIU shot 43.75% from the field and 20.00% success rate from beyond the arc, concluding the quarter with a slight lead, 17-16. Moving to the second quarter, Texas Woman's responded by outscoring TAMIU, 14-12. Despite a lower shooting percentage of 33.33% for the Dustdevils, they were only down by one point heading into halftime, 29-30.
The Dustdevils improved their shooting percentage in the third quarter to 47.06% from the field and 50% from deep. In the final quarter TAMIU faced challenges, recording a 20.00% shooting percentage from the field, allowing Texas Woman's to to come away with the victory, 73-59.
Angelique Morgan led the Dustdevils with 16 points and 3 assists.
Raiana Brown added 12 points and 4 rebounds while
Samiyah Worrell had 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.
After a long road trip the Dustdevils return home to face Eastern New Mexico on Thursday, January 25 at 6pm in the TAMIU KCB.
