Lubbock, Texas – The Dustdevils traveled to Lubbock for a Lone Star Conference matchup between the Lubbock Christian Chaps. Despite a late rally in the second half, TAMIU fell just short of the comeback with the final score favoring the Chaps 3-2.
The scoring opened in the 11th minute when LCU's Bonnie Miller found the back of the net, assisted by Journey Curs, giving LCU an early lead.
In the second half,
Krysan St. Louis leveled the score in the 55th minute with a well-placed shot, assisted by
Gabriela Mendez-Ortiz.
LCU regained the lead with a goal from Avery Jennings in the 60th minute, followed by another from Curs just three minutes later.
Sammy Hecht brought the Dustdevils back within one with a goal in the 88
th minute, assisted by
Rosa Caird.
Hannah Harris recorded eight saves on the night.
The Dustdevils head to Austin on Oct. 23 to face off against St. Edward's University. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
