Dustdevils Earn First Conference Win Against Lobos

Alpine, Texas – The Dustdevils traveled up to Alpine for a conference matchup against Sul Ross State. Two second half goals pushed TAMIU past the Lobos 3-1.

The Dustdevils got on the board first with a goal from Krysan St. Louis in the 13th minute. The Lobos equalized in the 33rd minute with a goal from Karina Gallegos.

In the first 45 minutes, TAMIU outshot the Lobos 7-5. Dustdevils' goalkeeper Claramalia Pederson recorded one save in the first half.

The Dustdevils jumped in front again in the 70th minute with a goal by Laura Cardenas. TAMIU extended it's lead late in the game with a goal from Janize Castillo in the 87th minute.

Pederson recorded three saves in the second half to hold the Lobos to one goal.

The Dustdevils return home Oct. 5th to face off against West Texas A&M. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
