Laredo, Texas – In their final home game of the 2024 season, the Dustdevils faced the St. Mary's Rattlers in Lone Star Conference action Tuesday night. The Rattlers' second half offense gave them a 3-0 win over TAMIU.
Claramalia Pedersen made five crucial saves to hold the Rattlers scoreless in the first half.
Just over ten minutes into the second half, Nayeli Celedon found the back of the net giving St. Mary's a 1-0 lead.
The Rattlers extended their lead in the 76
th minute, adding a goal by Alexis Truitt. Truitt tallied a second goal in the 88
th minute, extending the Rattlers' lead to three.
TAMIU's two shots on goal came from
Gabriela Mendez-Ortiz and senior
Candela Gonzalez.
Following the match, TAMIU honored their nine seniors with a senior day presentation, celebrating their contributions to the program and marking the end of their collegiate careers at
Dustdevil Soccer Field.
