Dustdevils Men's Basketball Fall In Season Opener

Billings, Montana- The Men's Basketball team opened their 2024-25 campaign against Rogers State University at the 2024 D2CCA Tipoff Classic at the Trailhead. The Men's team would play Rogers State on day one, with three games to play in three days. This would be the first contest of the season for these two teams. The Dustdevils are 1-2 all time against the Hillcats.

The Dustdevils started off the first ten minutes of the first half strong. It was not until 12 minutes left in the first half that the Hillcats started to shift the momentum jumping to a 22-10 lead. The run was continued until about six minutes left in the half where the Hillcats jumped out into a 32-15 lead. The Hillcats would finished the half with a 46-29 lead over the Dustdevils.  Going into halftime the Dustdevils were shooting 39% from the field and 66% from the charity strike.
 
Second half action was a repeat of the first as Rogers State jumped out early and pushed their lead. The Dustdevils picked up intensity in the second half allowing the Hillcats to only shoot 53% from the field as well as 44% from deep. Significantly lower numbers than in the first half. The Hillcats ended up finished the game with a 81-58 victory over the Dustdevils.

The Dustdevils were lead today by Esteban Roacho. He had an impressive performance putting up 18 points, one assist, two rebounds, and one assist. He shot 50% from the field and helped spark the Dustdevil offense. Duncan Alevok also had an impressive performance, putting up eight points,five rebounds and shooting 4-6 from the field. It was an impressive team effort for the Dustdevils as nine individuals contributed to the offensive game for the Dustdevils. Ultimately the hot hand of the Hillcats proved to be too much.

The Dustdevils will be back in action tomorrow against the University of Alaska Anchorage at 4:00 CT.
