Volleyball Goes Down To The Wire Against St. Mary’s

San Antonio, Texas- The Texas A&M International Dustdevils volleyball team took to San Antonio on Wednesday to take on the St. Mary's Rattlers.

The Dustdevils came out strong as they took the first set 25-19. The momentum would shift back to the home team as the Rattlers took the second and third set 25-18. The Dustdevils would rally back to take the fourth set with a demanding 25-15. However, the Rattlers were able to use the home court momentum to shift the game back and finish the Dustdevils off with a 15-11 fifth set victory. The loss now makes TAMIU 14-22 all time against the Rattlers.

The Dustdevils finished the match with 59 kills, five aces, 10 blocks, 56 assists and 71 digs. TAMIU finished the match with a .239 hitting percentage. Overall, it was a very competitive match for the Dustdevils. The kill leaders on the night were Mia Molina (18), Caitlyn Cornell (16), and Aryana Ledet (13). Emma Lade had an outstanding night for the Dustdevils finishing with 50 assists, 9 digs, 4 blocks and one service ace. The dig leaders on the night were Lixai Perez (28) and Anna Ligart (17).
 
The Dustdevils will play their final match of the season against Sul Ross State November 15th at 6:00 PM. It will be senior day for the Dustdevils.
