Denton, Texas- The Dustdevils volleyball trip took on the Pioneers on Saturday in Denton. This was game two of a long road trip for the Dustdevils. Leading into today's match the Dustdevils are 7-13 on the season while the Pioneers are 16-5 overall. TAMIU is 2-8 against the Pioneers all-time.
Texas A&M International started off slowly going down 0-4 in the beginning of the first set but rallied back to take the lead 8-6 and continued to go back and forth. Around the 15 point of the first set, the momentum shifted to favor the Pioneers as they took the first set (17-25). Texas Woman's continued to build off that momentum as they took set two (22-25) and set three (23-25). TAMIU finished the match with 43 kills, three blocks, 42 assists and 55 digs on the night.
Aryana Ledet (15) and
Anna Ligart (10) were the kill leaders for tonight's matchup.
Emma Lade lead the way with 36 digs on the night which was a game high out of both teams.
Lixai Perez finished the game with 16 digs which was a game high also.
Anna Ligart and
Mia Ramirez finished the match with 12 digs respectively.
