Laredo, Texas- The Texas A&M International Volleyball team took on the West Texas A&M Buffs Friday afternoon. It was first responders night inside the KCB Gymnasium. TAMIU athletics honored all of the first responders on the night and thanked them for their selflessness.

The Dustdevils would have a shot at taking down the #6 ranked Buffs, who are undefeated in the Lone Star Conference. The Lady Buffs have not lost a single set in a match since over a month ago on October 9
th. The Dustdevils would put the Buffs to the test on home court.

The Dustdevils started off strong, with the first set going back and forth, holding a 17-15 lead late in the set. The Buffs would find the momentum and finish the first set strong with set one playing out to 25-23 in favor of West Texas A&M. Set two and three would be much of the same as the Dustdevils and Buffs went back and forth with West Texas shifting the momentum at the end of the sets in order to sweep the Dustdevils 3-0. In a tight game against one of the best teams in the country, the Dustdevils fell in three sets in what could be looked at as one of the best played matches overall in the season for the Dustdevils. Emma Lade led all players with 27 assists on the night. Lade also had 15 digs, two service aces, and two kills on the night.
Lixai Perez led the Dustdevils in digs with 18 while also having 8 assists on the night.
Anna Ligart (13),
Aryana Ledet (9), and
Abby Buenrostro (7) would be the trio to lead the offense on the night in kills. Overall, the Dustdevils finished with 42 kills, six aces, eight blocks, 39 assists and 49 digs.

The Dustdevils will be back in action tomorrow against Eastern New Mexico University at 2:00 PM.
