Billings, Montana – In the final day of the D2CCA Tipoff Classic, TAMIU faced off against the Minot State Beavers. Despite a strong first half, the Dustdevils fell to the Beavers 72-55.
The Dustdevils held the momentum for the majority of the first half. After 20 minutes, TAMIU went into half-time leading 35-30.
TAMIU shot 13-31 (41.9%) from the field and 3-11 (27.3%) from beyond the arc.
Taylor Jacobson led the TAMIU offense with eight points.
Janiya Murphy was just behind her with seven points and one assist.
On the defensive end, Jacobson and Murphy also led the team with four rebounds each.
The Beavers flipped the momentum coming into the third quarter. The Beavers held the Dustdevils to just seven points in the quarter.
In the final 10 minutes, TAMIU shot 5-14 from the field and made 3-4 free throws.
The Dustdevils continue their season Nov. 16-17 at the Hampton Inn Classic hosted by the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith. The Dustdevils face UAFS in game one on the 16
th with tipoff scheduled for 5 p.m.
