Laredo, Texas – The Dustdevils (0-9, 0-4) took on the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds (9-1, 4-0) in Lone Star Conference action on Sunday afternoon. With six lead changes and nine ties, the Greyhounds escaped with the 63-56 win.
In the first quarter, the Dustdevils shot 9-15 (60%) from the field and held the Greyhounds to just 4-8 (50%). After the first 10 minutes, TAMIU led 22-17.
In the second quarter, TAMIU shot 5-10 from the field and 1-3 from three-point range. The Greyhounds shot 7-12 (58.3%) from the field and 1-3 from range. ENMU went into halftime with a 38-35 lead.
In the second half, the Dustdevils shot 8-33 (24%) and 2-7 (28.5%) from three-point range.
Trinity Chears led the game with 26 points. TAMIU's defense was led by
Josie Igherighe who had seven total rebounds.
The Dustdevils take on West Texas A&M at home on Tuesday, Dec. 17
th. Tipoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
