Laredo, Texas – The Dustdevils took on the West Texas A&M Lady Buffs in Lone Star Conference play Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Buffs jumped out to an early lead that led to their 73-46 victory.
The Lady Buffs held the Dustdevils to six points in the first quarter, TAMIU shooting 3-20 (15%) from the field.
WT shot 8-15 (53.3%) from the field, but the Dustdevil defense held them to 0-6 from range.
The Dustdevils shot 4-12 (33.3%) from the field in the second quarter and 1-4 from beyond the arc. The Dustdevils trailed 36-17 going into halftime.
Entering the third quarter, the Dustdevils matched the Lady Buffs, with both teams tallying 17 points. TAMIU shot 8-23 (34.8%) from the field.
In the final quarter, the Dustevils shot 4-14 (28.6%) from the field and 4-8 from the free throw line.
Josie Igherighe led the offense with 15 points, with
Angelique Morgan contributing 11. On the defensive side, Igherighe and Taylor Jacobsen combined for 13 rebounds.
The Dustdevils take on the College of Biblical Studies on Sunday, December 22
nd, at home for their last game ahead of winter break. Tipoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
