Laredo, Texas – The Dustdevils (1-5) took on Eastern New Mexico (2-3) for a Lone Star Conference matchup in Laredo.
Lalo Salinas got the start for the Dustdevils in game one of Saturday's double header.
The Dustdevils got on the board first with a sacrifice fly from
Isaac Gonzalez in the second inning.
The Greyhounds responded, scoring seven in the top half of the third before adding two more in the fourth, giving them a 9-1 lead.
TAMIU rallied back in the bottom of the fourth scoring five runs.
Abiam Medina brought in
Joshua Benitez with an RBI single.
Isaac Stanwick came into score on an RBI single from
Omar Cervantes.
Ariben Gutierrez came home after a walk to
Joseph Cruz, and Cervantes and Medina scored on a single from
Nick Chavez bringing the Dustdevils within three.
The Dustdevils added another run in the fifth courtesy of a Benitez solo home run.
ENMU added a run in the seventh, securing their 10-7 win.
The Dustdevils look to bounce back in game two of the double header against ENMU on Saturday at 3 p.m.
