Laredo, Texas – The Dustdevils (4-8, 1-1) fell to the Greyhounds (8-2, 1-1) in the first game of Sunday's Lone Star Conference doubleheader.
Eastern New Mexico got on the board early scoring four runs off Dustdevils' starter
Carla Arellano in the first inning.
The Dustdevils rallied in the bottom of the third inning after a 2-run double from
Kennedy Griego cut the Greyhound's lead in half.
The Greyhounds extended their lead, adding three runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth inning.
Arellano pitched 4.2 innings allowing 10 runs on 11 hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
Zakayia Fredrick replaced Arellano and the Greyhounds added two more.
The Dustdevils earned one back in the bottom half of the fifth with another RBI from Griego.
The Greyhounds took game one of the doubleheader in five innings by a score of 12-3. The Dustdevils look to bounce back in the series finale Sunday afternoon.
