Dustdevils Fall to Javelinas

Box Score Laredo, Texas – Texas A&M International baseball dropped a non-conference matchup with Texas A&M Kingsville on Wednesday afternoon, 13-1.

TAMUK starting their scoring in the 1st inning, putting up a run with a home run by Rosales.

In the 3rd inning TAMUK added four more runs to their tally. Rosales hit a double to right field, bringing in two runs. Amador then followed up with a two-run homer, extending their lead to 5-0.

The momentum continued in the 4th inning when Garcia scored on a passed ball, and the lead increased to 6-0. The Javelina offense adding four more runs in the 6th inning, highlighted by a triple from Chapman.

In the 8th inning, TAMUK further widened the gap with two more runs, courtesy of Cavazos and Bierdsted. TAMIU got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the 8th inning, with Benavides walking in a run, making it 12-1.

In the 9th inning, TAMUK's Young singled to bring in another run, sealing the victory for the Javelinas with a final score of 13-1.

The winning pitcher for TAMUK was Vasquez, while the losing pitcher for the Dustdevils was  Lalo Salinas.

Vasquez pitched 1.0 inning, maintaining a shutout while facing four batters. TAMIU's Lalo Salinas pitched 2.0 innings and allowing one run while striking out three batters.

The Dustdevils look to bounce back on Friday, February 23 at 2:00 pm at Jorge Haynes Field when they welcome UTPB.
