Dustdevils Crush Hilltoppers to Improve to 19-4

Austin, Texas – The Dustdevils (19-4, 11-4) faced the St. Edward's Hilltoppers (7-12, 4-9) in Lone Star Conference play Saturday afternoon in Austin, TX and came away with the dominating victory, 92-74.

TAMIU dominated the opening quarter with a strong offensive performance, shooting at an impressive 56.25%. Raiana Brown led the charge, contributing significantly with 10 points, including a three-pointer. The Dustdevils outscored St. Edward's 28-15, establishing an early lead.

The Dustdevils continued their offensive prowess in the second quarter, shooting 62.50%. Samiyah Worrell showcased her three-point accuracy, while Angelique Morgan's seven assists contributed to their 26-point quarter. St. Edward's attempted to narrow the gap, but TAMIU maintained control, ending the half with a 54-37 advantage.

In the third quarter, the Dustdevils sustained their efficiency, shooting 50.00%, with Raiana Brown and Samiyah Worrell leading the scoring efforts. St. Edward's struggled to find their rhythm, managing only 10 points in the quarter. The Dustdevils entered the final quarter with a substantial 77-47 lead.

The final quarter saw TAMIU closing out the game with a 92-74 victory. Despite a resurgence from St. Edward's, the Dustdevils' earlier lead proved insurmountable. Raiana Brown's consistent performance throughout the game, finishing with 32 points, solidified the Dustdevils' win. The team demonstrated commendable shooting accuracy, finishing the game at 53.7%.

Raiana Brown led the Dustdevils with 32 points and 4 rebounds. Samiyah Worrell added 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Angelique Morgan and Bridgette Tello added 12 points and 11 points respectively.

TAMIU returns home to face The University of Arkansas Fort Smith on Thursday, February 8 at 6pm in the TAMIU KCB.
