Dustdevils Fall to Chaps in Doubleheader

Lubbock, Texas – The Dustdevils continued their season on the road in Lubbock for a series against the Chaps after their bye-week.
 
Game 1
Carla Arellano got the start on the mound for the Dustdevils in game one of Saturday's doubleheader.

Arellano retired the first six batters she faced in the first two innings. The Chaps scored two runs in the third with a two-run home run, giving them a 2-0 lead.

The score stayed there until the bottom of the sixth where the Chaps extended their lead to 4-0 with two RBI doubles.

Arellano finished the day with six innings pitched while allowing four runs on seven hits with three walks and a strikeout.

The Dustdevil offense was held to just one hit and one walk in the contest.

Game 2
The Dustdevils got on the board first in the top of the first inning with a Chap's error that brought in Kristy Alanis to score.

The Chaps answered back in the bottom of the inning, tying the game at one. LCU added three more in the second and six in the third to give them a 10-1 lead.

Kylie Goad got the start for TAMIU and allowed nine runs on eight hits with two walks and two strikeouts through 2.2 innings.

Zakayia Fredrick pitched 1.1 innings in relief allowing one run.

The Dustdevils take the field against the Chaps in the series finale on Sunday with first pitch at 12 p.m.
