Lubbock, Texas – In the second day of their series against Lubbock Christian, the Dustdevils earned the 2-1 victory on the road.
Tessa Ramirez got the start on the mound for the Dustdevils in Sunday's matchup and held the Chaps to just three hits. The Chaps scored their lone run of the game with a solo home run in the fourth inning.
Ramirez finished the day with seven innings pitched while allowing just one run on three hits with one walk and one strikeout.
The Dustdevil offense scored their first run in the second inning as
Victoria Espinoza came in to score on a wild pitch. TAMIU earned their second run in the third with a
Victoria Gonzalez solo home run.
The Dustdevils had nine hits on the day, with
Eva Garcia,
Victoria Gonzalez and
Victoria Espinoza all having multi-hit games.
TAMIU continues their season at home as they take on Cameron in Laredo on March 28-29.
