Laredo, Texas – The Dustdevils returned to Laredo to face the Cameron Aggies in day one of their three-game series. The day finished with both teams taking a game in the doubleheader.
Game 1
Cameron got on the board early with a three-run home run in the top of the first inning, jumping out to an early 3-0 lead. They added two more runs in the third putting them up 5-0.
The Dustdevils got one back in the bottom of the third with an RBI double from 
Alana Garcia that brought 
Alex Hernandez into score.
The Aggies added their sixth and final run of the game in the fourth with a sacrifice fly.
A four-run fifth brought the Dustdevils within one run. 
Kennedy Griego started the scoring with a sacrifice fly that brought 
Alana Garcia into score. 
Victoria Gonzalez brought in three with her three-run home run that made the game 6-5 in favor of the Aggies.
It was Griego and Gonzalez again for the Dustdevils in the seventh as Griego tied the game with an RBI single that scored 
Eva Garcia, before Gonzalez called game with her second three-run home run of the game, leading to the 9-6 walk-off victory for TAMIU.
Carla Arellano earned the victory on the mound with seven innings pitched while allowing six runs on seven hits with five walks and one strikeout.
 
Game 2
Game two remained scoreless until 
Victoria Gonzalez started the scoring for the Dustdevils with an RBI single in the third inning.
The Aggies tied it in the fourth inning before jumping to a 2-1 lead in the top of the fifth.
TAMIU answered back in the home half of the fifth, tying the game with an RBI from 
Victoria Espinoza. 
Alex Hernandez gave the Dustdevils a 4-2 lead with a 2-RBI double.
Cameron tied the game in the top of the seventh inning with a two-run home run. The Dustdevils did not score in the bottom of the seventh and the game went to extra innings.
The game remained tied at four until the top of the tenth when the Aggies brought in a run, which was enough to give them the 5-4 win.
Kylie Goad got the start on the mound and pitched four innings and allowed two runs on seven hits with one walk and one strikeout. 
Zakayia Fredrick and 
Celeste Apaez both pitched in relief.
The series concludes Friday at Dustdevil Softball Field with first pitch scheduled for 12:15 p.m.
