Laredo, Texas – The Dustdevils concluded the regular season by splitting the series with St. Edwards, securing a 7-6 win. With this victory, TAMIU's record improves to 24-26, marking their first qualification for the Lone Star Conference Postseason in the program's history.
St. Edward's took the lead in the first inning, when Solis drove in Drewek with a single. The Dustdevils responded in the bottom half, scoring four runs. Medina's RBI single was followed by Cruz's 2-RBI single to right field, and Buentello's sacrifice fly added another, giving the Dustdevils a 4-1 lead.
St. Edward's managed to claw back a run in the second inning through Garcia's fielder's choice, which allowed Murray to score due to a fielding error, narrowing the gap to 4-2. The Dustdevils widened their lead in the fifth inning with Cervantes and Cruz each driving in a run, pushing the score to 6-2.
The game intensified in the seventh inning as Murray hit a two-run homer for St. Edward's, reducing the deficit to 6-4. TAMIU answered back in the bottom of the same inning, with Medina scoring on a double play to stretch the lead to 7-4.
