Laredo, TX- The Dustdevil Volleyball team returned home after a victory over Anderson University this past weekend. The lady Dustdevils were hoping to catch another win in their home opener on Thursday night against the University of Texas Permian Basin. Entering the game, the Dustdevils were 6-19 all time against the Falcons. The Dustdevils were 2-5 on the season while the Falcons were 5-2 overall entering the game on Thursday evening.
It was Maroon out night at the KCB gymnasium as the Dustdevil Volleyball team was cheered on heavily by the community. The first two sets were close, decided between just a couple of points. The Falcons ended up taking the match winning 3-0 respectively (25-23,27-25,25-17). The first couple of sets ended up becoming a nail biter for those in attendance but ultimately the Falcons took over, finishing strong in the third set.

Anna Ligart had 12 kills to lead the way for the Dustdevils.
Aryana Ledet also had 10 kills to add to the total of 35 team kills for the Dustdevils.
Emma Lade had 30 assists on the night with one service ace.
Lixai Perez and Sierra long led the way in digs for the Dustdevils. Perez finished the night with 18 digs while Long finished the night with 10 respectively.

After the loss, the Volleyball team drop to 2-6 on the season. The Lady Dustdevils will be back in action on Saturday at home against Lubbock Christian at 1:00 PM who is currently 4-4 on the season. Saturday will be "Blackout night". Catch all the action on Flosports.
