San Antonio, Texas – The Dustdevils (2-2-1) traveled up to San Antonio to take on the Rattlers (3-1-2) on Saturday. Two first half goals by the Rattlers were enough to get the job done as they defeated TAMIU 2-1.
St. Mary's opened the scoring with a goal by Cooper Stephens in the 29
th minute. Pau Mateu Deya added one for the Rattlers in the 41
st minute sending the Rattlers to halftime with a 2-0 lead.
The Dustdevils cut the lead in half with a goal by
Byron Aguilar in the 56
th minute.
The Dustdevils defense shined in the second half, not allowing the Rattlers a shot on goal.
Ioannis Koupepides recorded six saves in the match, all in the first half.
The Dustdevils return home Friday, September 27
th, where they face St. Edward's in their final nonconference game of the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
TAMIU will be honoring men's soccer alumni during halftime.
