Box Score Laredo, Texas- The Men's Soccer team took on the St. Edwards Hilltoppers on Friday night. Friday night was alumni night at Dustdevil Stadium and the crowd was full of excitement as the two Lone Star Conference foes took to the pitch.

The Hilltoppers were the first to strike as they took a lead at the 23^rd minute as Matthew Devaney scored a shot to the bottom left corner of the goal. It was just narrowly missed by TAMIU goalkeeper Nicklas Berg-Ericksen. However, the Dustdevils were quick to strike back as Dereck Espinal nailed a goal to the lower right side. Espinal was assisted by Yahir Gallardo. The two teams continued to battle as the Hilltoppers were able to knock in a goal right before halftime. Dean Roggenbauer scored a goal at the 43^rd minute to put the Hilltoppers up 2-1 going into the half.
 
Lehrer Guy of TAMIU netted a penalty in the 65^th minute of the match to even the score at 2-2. The Dustdevils conceded a goal in the 68^th minute to go down 3-2. A red card in the 71^st minute forced the Dustdevils to play a man down the remainder of the match. Being a man down proved to be too much as it was all Hilltoppers as they recorded goals in the 83^rd and 85^th minutes. The Hilltoppers out shot the Dustdevils 21 to 8 on the match. Ten of which were on goal. The Dustdevils finished the match with eight shots, three of which were on goal. TAMIU had five corners, one assists, five saves and two goals on the night.

The men's soccer team will play again Wednesday again West Texas A&M at 7:00 PM at Dustdevil Stadium.
