Austin, Texas- The Texas A&M International Volleyball team took on the St. Edwards Hilltoppers on Wednesday in Austin. The Dustdevils entering the match were 9-26 all time against the Hilltoppers leading into the game.

The first set was back and forth as St. Edwards took the lead after winning the first set (26-28). TAMIU rallied back down five but ultimately would fall short. The Dustdevils found their rhythm as they were able to jump out into a 7-2 lead in the second set and then 7-3 in the third.  Thus the Dustdevils were able to take things into their hands in both the second and third set (25-21) (25-21). St. Edwards battled back to take the fourth set (19-25), however TAMIU would end up prevailing in the fifth set (15-13). The TAMIU Dustdevils finished the match with 63 kills, 12 aces, eight blocks, 62 assists and 61 digs.
Aryana Ledet continued her strong showing from the past weekend, leading the team again with 18 kills.
Anna Ligart (14) and
Mia Molina (13) kills also contributed to the offensive success of the Dustdevils on the night. The 2023 Setter of the Year and Preseason Setter of the Year
Emma Lade had a big night as she dished out 50 assists on the night, found 14 digs and had two service aces.
Lixai Perez had 12 digs on the night along with eight assists.
Marianna Gamboa had 11 digs on the night for the Dustdevils.
