Dustdevils fall to Hilltoppers

Laredo, Texas – Texas A&M International men's soccer came up short Wednesday night at Dustdevil Field, falling 2-0 to St. Edward's in Lone Star Conference action.

After a scoreless first half, the Hilltoppers broke through in the 78th minute when Filip Adamski netted the opening goal. Despite St. Edward's going down a man after a red card minutes later, the visitors added an insurance goal in the 89th minute from Armando DonJuan off an assist from Arthur Souza.

TAMIU managed three total shots, including one on goal from Byron Aguilar and another from Tiziano Klamler, but couldn't find the back of the net. Goalkeeper Ioannis Koupepides tallied one save in 90 minutes of play.

With the result, the Dustdevils move to 2-5-5 overall and 0-4-1 in conference play.

TAMIU continues its season on the road Saturday, October 18, with a matchup against St. Mary's in San Antonio.
