Laredo, Texas – The Dustdevils returned home in style, powering past Texas-Dallas in four sets (25–22, 25–22, 27–29, 25–16) on Friday night inside the TAMIU Kinesiology and Convocation Building.
Texas A&M International (5–18, 3–11 LSC) showed strong balance throughout the lineup, highlighted by
Sierra Sanchez, who led all players with 15 kills and 23 digs for a double-double performance.
Danea King added 11 kills and hit .556, while
Mia Molina chipped in 10 kills and 14 digs.
Setting duties were split efficiently between
Dilean Bounds, who tallied 21 assists, and
Natalia Cisneros, who finished with 24 assists and nine digs. The Dustdevil front line held strong, totaling nine blocks -
Caitlyn Cornell led the effort with seven block assists, and
Abby Buenrostro added four.
At the service line, TAMIU posted 11 aces, including three each from
Mia Ramirez and
Samantha Estrada. Defensively, the team combined for 74 digs to limit the Comets' attack to a .147 hitting percentage.
TAMIU continues the season with its last home game tomorrow afternoon against UT Tyler as the Dustdevils celebrate Senior Day following the match.
