Laredo, Texas – Texas A&M International volleyball fell in straight sets to UT Tyler (16-25, 21-25, 19-25) on Saturday afternoon at the TAMIU Kinesiology and Convocation Building.
Senior
Danea King led the Dustdevils offensively with eight kills and a .467 hitting percentage, while also adding a solo block.
Mia Molina followed with nine kills, and
Sierra Sanchez contributed four kills, two service aces, and four digs.
Caitlyn Cornell was a presence at the net with three block assists, and setters
Dilean Bounds and
Natalia Cisneros combined for 25 assists. Defensively,
Samantha Estrada anchored the back row with 14 digs.
As a team, the Dustdevils tallied 30 kills, seven aces, and four blocks in the match.
With the loss, TAMIU moves to 5-19 overall and 3-12 in Lone Star Conference play.
TAMIU ends the season next weekend on the road against UT Permian Basin on Friday and Angelo State on Saturday.
