Laredo, Texas – The TAMIU Dustdevils and UT Tyler Patriots concluded a four-game series Sunday afternoon at Jorge Haynes Field. The Patriots took game four by a score of 10-3 to earn the sweep of the series.
The Dustdevils scored first with
Nomar Prieto bringing in a run in the bottom of the second inning, putting the Dustdevils up 1-0.
The Patriots answered back with two runs in the top of the third to take a 2-1 lead.
UT Tyler added three more runs in the top of the fifth inning, before
Joseph Cruz brought in TAMIU's second run, bringing the game to 5-2 in favor of the Patriots.
The Patriots brought four runs across in the sixth inning and one more in the ninth, putting their run total for the game at 10.
The Dustdevils added a run in the bottom of the ninth with a bases-loaded walk to Cruz, brining the final score to 10-3.
The Dustdevils head to Alpine, Texas, Feb. 21-23 for a series against Sul Ross State.
