Alpine, Texas – The Dustdevils and Lobos played an action-packed doubleheader on Saturday.  TAMIU's offense got hot as the Dustdevils swept both games by scores of 7-5 and 8-5.
Game One
Lalo Salinas started game one on the mound for the Dustdevils and went the distance. Salinas pitched seven innings and allowed no runs through the first six innings. As the Lobos started to rally in the bottom of the seventh, Salinas got out of the jam to give TAMIU a 7-5 win.
In seven innings, Salinas allowed five runs on six hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts.
The TAMIU offense was highly effective putting up seven runs and 10 hits in game one.
Abiam Medina, 
Joseph Cruz, 
Eddie Saenz and 
Nomar Prieto all had multiple hits.
Prieto brought in two runs on the day with a RBI-single in the second inning and a home run in the sixth.
Game Two 
The Dustdevils utilized five pitchers in game two, with 
Austin Brewer making the start and delivering the longest outing at 3.1 innings. Brewer allowed two runs on three hits, with two walks and two strikeouts.
The Dustdevil bats came out the gates with two runs in the first inning courtesy of RBIs from 
Abiam Medina and 
Eddie Saenz.
Medina tallied five RBIs in game two with two home runs in the game. 
Omar Cervantes also homered and brought in two runs.
David White earned the win in game two for TAMIU, pitching one inning and allowing one run on no hits, with two walks and a strikeout.
The Dustdevils and Lobos conclude the series tomorrow, with the Dustdevils looking to win the series. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
