Lawton, Oklahoma – The Dustdevils headed north to Oklahoma to face the Cameron Aggies in Lone Star Conference play. The first time the Dustdevils faced the Aggies this season, TAMIU came away with a 73-64 victory. This time, the Aggies used a big first quarter to boost them to their first conference victory this season as they beat the Dustdevils 80-53.
In the first half, TAMIU shot 9-32 (28.1%) from the field and 2-12 (16.7%) from beyond the arc. The Dustdevils did not attempt a free throw in the first twenty minutes.
The Aggies shot 15-34 (44.1%) from the field and 8-21 (38.1%) from three-point range. Going into halftime, Cameron led 46-20.
In the second half, the Dustdevils shot 14-34 (41.2%) from the field and 3-12 (25%) from deep. The Aggies shot 14-29 (48.3%) from the field and 3-14 (21.4%) from beyond the arc. Cameron also shot a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line in the game.
Josie Igherighe led the Dustdevils with her fourth double-double of the season, tallying 14 points and adding 10 rebounds.
Alyssia Thorne also added 13 points for TAMIU off the bench.
The Dustdevils stay on the road as they take on Oklahoma Christian on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
