San Antonio, Texas – The TAMIU Dustdevils traveled up to San Antonio for a four-game series against the St. Mary's Rattlers. The Rattlers tallied 15 hits on the night as they earned the game one victory, 15-2.
The Rattlers scored one run in the first inning, but a five-run second inning put StMU in front of TAMIU 6-0. StMU plated three more runs in the third as the Rattlers extended its lead to nine runs.
Eddie Saenz and
Nomar Prieto each brought in a run in the top of the fourth to put TAMIU on the board.
StMU added six runs in the bottom of the fourth to bring the game to 15-2.
Mario Garcia started the game on the mound for the Dustdevils and pitched 2.2 innings. He allowed eight runs on eight hits with three walks and two strikeouts.
The Dustdevils and Rattlers continue the series Saturday with doubleheader action starting at 2:00 p.m.
