TAMIU Softball Keeps Playoff Hopes Alive In Split

Austin, Texas- The race for the play contention continues as the TAMIU Dustdevils went to take on the St. Edwards University Hilltoppers. The Dustdevils and Hilltoppers entered the game today in a race between several Lonestar Conference teams for the 7th and 8th spot in the conference tournament. The tension could be felt in the air as the two teams took to the field today in a crucial weekend of LSC softball.

Kylie Goad would enter the circle today in the first game for the Dustdevils. Goad would go the full seven innings for the Dustdevils. Goad would face 28 batters and would only allow one run scored on an impressive six hit showing. TAMIU would take game one as the Dustdevils would win 3-1 in the first game. Victoria Gonzalez would single to right field to bring home Victoria Espinoza. Espinoza would then bunt to bring home Azalea Ramos. Kennedy Griego would double to left field; Madison Gray would score. TAMIU finished the game with three runs, six hits and 0 errors. Fredrick, Ramirez, and Herrera would take the circle for the Dustdevils for game two. Unfortunately, the Dustdevils would come up short as the Hilltoppers would win 6-2 in the second game.
