Laredo, Texas – Texas A&M International women's soccer battled to a dramatic 1-1 draw against Midwestern State on Wednesday night at Dustdevil Soccer Field, powered by a standout performance in goal and a last-minute equalizer.

Latae Rodriguez anchored the Dustdevils throughout the match, turning away five shots on goal and keeping her side within striking distance despite sustained pressure from the Mustangs. Rodriguez made three key first-half saves and added two more in the second to steady the back line.
Midwestern State broke through early in the second half with a goal in the 49th minute, but the Dustdevils refused to back down. After pushing forward in the closing minutes,
Valeria Olivas Maldonado delivered the moment of the night—burying a shot in the 90th minute off an assist from
Adamaris Manjarrez to level the score.
The Dustdevils (1-1-2, 0-0-1 LSC) finished with four total shots, but Rodriguez's heroics between the posts proved vital in securing the result.
TAMIU continues conference play this weekend when they travel to Tyler, Texas on September 20 for a matchup against the Patriots. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
