Chris Fuentes sparked the Dustdevil offense with two goals against the Mississippi College Choctaws in TAMIU's season opener.
Fuentes opened the scoring in the 31
st minute, assisted by
Abner Trevino, putting the Dustdevils up 1-0.
The Choctaws tied the game in the 38
th minute, ending the first half in a 1-1 draw.
Mississippi College took a 2-1 lead in the 63
rd minute, but Fuentes struck again with the equalizer less than a minute later assisted by
Tiziano Klamler.
Sophomore
Ioannis Koupepides was in the net for the Dustdevils and recorded two saves on four shots on goal from the Choctaws.
The Dustdevils continue the season at home with a matchup against Delta State on September 6. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
