Dustdevils Lose Final Game Of UT Tyler Road Series

TYLER,Texas  The Dustdevils get 12 runners on base but struggle to bring them home losing the final game of the road series against UT Tyler 11-2. 

The UT Tyler Patriots (9-1,9-1) got ahead early, leading by 6-0 heading into the top of the fourth with four straight innings scoring at least a runner.  

In the bottom of the second four patriots came home from two base hits, two hits by pitches and a walk from starter Dylan Kinney.  

Kinney received his first loss of the season allowing six hits, five earned runs, with three coming off three wild pitches and a walk.  

TAMIU (3-7,3-7) scored one run in the fourth inning from an RBI single by Jacob Angell, and one run in the fifth after Asahi Nakano sac fly brought home Ciro Benavides who got on base with a single.  

Dustdevils found success collecting eight hits in this ball game but left 12 runners on base with nine runners in scoring position. Eddie Saenz (2-4) and Ciro Benavides (2-3) found the most success in the afternoon.  

TAMIU returns home to face off against Sul Ross State University over the weekend while UT Tyler goes on the road to face Texas A&M Kingsville.  

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Fabrizio Salinas, freshman pitcher from Mission,Texas, made his second outing of the series coming into the ball game in the eighth inning facing two batters striking out both.
