LAREDO – TX The Dustdevils were outscored 46-22 down low and fell short against #19 ranked St Edwards with a final score 89-69 inside KCB Arena.
TAMIU (7-15,4-10) led 13-11 in the beginning of the first half, but 11 forced turnovers allowed the Hilltoppers to score 23 points to build a 51-30 lead in the half.
St. Edwards' (20-4,9-4) Jamison Kay (23) and Blake Nielsen (15) combined for 38 points paired with two other Hilltoppers in double figures, Robert Konrad (10), Conor McManus (14).
Dust Devils were led by guards Aaron Perez (14) and Jamyier Patton (17) who hit three shots beyond the arc.
The Dustdevils continue conference play against Midwestern State University Texas on Thursday 7:30pm in Wichita, TX.
