Laredo ISD Honors Head Coach Casey Fowler

LAREDO, TEXAS – Laredo Independent School District honors TAMIU Women's Basketball Head Coach Casey Fowler on his dedication to serve his country and community.

Thursday evening, Laredo ISD hosted their monthly board meeting inside the Laredo ISD Performing Arts Center to honor students and faculty throughout the community.

The meeting started with a video interview of Head Coach Casey Fowler discussing his eight years of service in the U.S Navy and what that taught him as a coach.

"The greatest thing the Navy taught me was work ethic and how to reach my full potential, this is what I teach my team."

Fowler served as a member of Naval Special Warfare, completing deployments with Special Boat Team 22 and SEAL Team 18.

After the video finished and a standing applause came to a close, the Laredo ISD Board of trustees stood with Casey Fowler, his wife and two kids, to honor his dedication to serve.

Goyo M. Lopez, President of the Laredo ISD District 5 Board of Trustees, stated;

"I have a lot of respect for you Casey because not only did you serve this country, but you found more ways to serve your community afterwards with TAMIU Women's Basketball."

Since his service in the U.S Navy, coach Fowler has dedicated six years of his life to coaching, getting his start at Lyon College where he broke multiple records.

Coach Fowler looks forward to his second season with TAMIU and continues to be a role model for his team and others.
