LAREDO, Texas-- The Dustdevils lose two in series finale doubleheader against St.Mary's final scores of 9-5 and 6-0 Saturday inside Jorge Jaynes Field.  

Game Three, 9-5, Loss 

The game was tied 1-1 heading into the third when the Rattlers brought home seven runs with Garrett Brooks 2RBI single and Rob Gonzales 2RBI double. Matt Gauna hit an RBI single, and another run came home off a walk bases loaded.  

Tristan Cavazos and Saul Soto fought back with RBI base hits for each of them cutting the Rattler lead to 8-4 in the fifth. Unfortunately, Dustdevils could not claw back with the game ending 9-5 in seven innings.  

Game Four, 6-0, Loss 

The Rattlers pitching held the dustdevils to only one hit after eight innings of play. Starting pitcher Eric Tenery remained on the mound for six innings, only allowing one hit with four strikeouts.  

The Dustdevils had bases loaded down 4-0 in the eighth, with Jesus Sosa at the plate with a chance to tie it. With a full count he hit a ground ball that would have scored three but unfortunately runners' interference on Tristan Cavazos collected the third out and left everyone stranded.   

TAMIU (10-12) goes on the road to face Lubbock Christian on the weekend while StMU(15-7) faces off against Texas A&M Kingsville at home.  

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Junior Outfielder, Saul Soto, went 2-for-3 in game three with three RBI and now is third on the team with 16 RBIs on the season with a .383 batting average. Soto is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering.
