LAREDO, TX – Texas A&M International University welcomes Wesley Malcolm as the new assistant volleyball coach. 

Coach Malcolm comes to Laredo from Albuquerque, New Mexico with eight years of experience in volleyball as a player and coach.  

His coaching career began at the club team New Mexico Elite, followed by four years of coaching at Rio Grande High School as the assistant varsity volleyball coach. Malcolm then coached for a year at Atrisco Heritage Academy before stepping into his previous role as the Head Volleyball Coach at Cibola High School. 

"New Mexico has a lot of scrappy volleyball, very defensive focused, I believe I can bring that to this program."  

 Coach Malcolm draws influence from legendary coach Nick Saban's "The Process"—emphasizing preparation, execution, and a relentless pursuit of continuous improvement over focusing solely on winning.  

Coach Malcolm is excited for this chapter in his coaching career and looks forward to helping the Dustdevils program succeed in the Lone Star Conference.

The Dustdevils volleyball team begins their season at the Drury Invitational on Aug. 28th against Southern Nazarene University.
