LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Texas A&M International University men's soccer used a pair of second-half goals from Aidan Williams and a clean sheet from goalkeeper Nicklas Berg-Eriksen to earn a 2-0 victory over West Alabama on Monday at the UWA Track and Soccer Complex.
With the win, TAMIU improves to 1-0-1 on the season, while West Alabama moves to 0-1-1.
The Dustdevils controlled much of the attacking pressure in the opening half, putting all three of their shots on target while holding the Tigers to just one shot. Wade Melville, Williams and Abner Zuniga each tested UWA goalkeeper Dan Erez, but the match remained scoreless at halftime.
TAMIU broke through in the 59th minute. Michael Ochoche set up Williams, who found the back of the net at the 58:28 mark to give the Dustdevils a 1-0 advantage.
West Alabama pushed for an equalizer late, forcing Berg-Eriksen into saves in the 86th and 87th minutes. The TAMIU goalkeeper denied Ethan Sharpe and David Nunez on consecutive attempts to preserve the shutout.
Williams then put the match away in the 89th minute. Ochoche once again provided the assist, connecting with Williams for his second goal of the afternoon and giving TAMIU the 2-0 advantage.
Williams finished with a match-high three shots, putting all three on goal and scoring twice. Ochoche recorded assists on both goals, while Berg-Eriksen made two saves to secure his first clean sheet of the season.
TAMIU finished with a 6-5 advantage in shots, a 5-2 edge in shots on goal and held a commanding 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The victory keeps the Dustdevils unbeaten through their first two matches of the 2026 season at 1-0-1.
