2020:
Martinez participated in two events for the Dustdevils. His best performance was at the Angelo Blue and Gold where he placed 29th with a time of 27:30.7.
2019:
Martinez competed in six meets for the Dustdevils, placing top 20 in two meets, one of which was a top 10 finish. Martinez's top 10 finish was a 10th place finish at the Concordia Classic. His top time of the season was at the UIW XC Invite, finishing with a time of 22:15.5. Martinez competed in the NCAA DII South Central Region Cross Country Championship and finished with a time of 35:13.41 in the 10K event.
Prior to TAMIU:
Martinez attended Colby Community College in Colby, Kan. where he got Runner-Up Team at Regionals and finished Top 10 at Nationals.
High School:
Martinez attended United High School in Laredo, Texas where he was a two-year member of the Track & Field and Cross Country teams. Martinez placed second in the 2018 Track and Field City Meet in the Mile.
Personal:
Born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Martinez is the son of Jimmy and Nancy Dean . Martinez has two older brothers, Manuel and Amador, as well as a younger sister, Elsie. Martinez will be pursuing a Kinesiology major with a minor in Biology.
