AUSTIN, Texas (October 6, 2016) -  The Texas A&M International University Men's Soccer team matched up with Heartland Conference rival St. Edward's on Thursday. TAMIU was dealt a 0-1 loss, moving to 3-7 overall (2-5 HC).

A tight first half saw a 0-0 draw after 45 minutes of play. The Dustdevils fired two shots in the first half, both were blocked by Hilltopper defenders.

St. Edward's struck first in the 47th minute of play, taking a 1-0 advantage. TAMIU battled back, firing five shots in the final 40 minutes of play.

Eduardo Gonzalez and Ryan Hodgson each recorded one shot on goal, Hodgson took two shots on the afternoon.

TAMIU finished the game with seven shots, two on goal. The Dustdevils held the Hilltoppers to just nine shots, one on goal. 

Roberto Molina played all 90 minutes in net.

TAMIU returns home for Alumni Weekend on Saturday. The Dustdevils take on St. Mary's at 7:30 pm CST.
